First
Place, Class 3A - New
England Division -

Field Day 2003
was held on the weekend of June 28 - 29. A new category was added this year by the ARRL: Class
F - Emergency Operations Center. Bruce - N1OFC and Rick -
KB1FLR operated a
second SMHARC entry under this new category from the Plainville
E.O.C. using their callsign, WC1PLV! The main club
operation was held at World War I Memorial Park in North
Attleboro. The bands were in pretty tough shape the entire
weekend but we still managed to beat our position from
last year. We finished 8th overall in Class 3a and First
Place in the ARRL new England Division in 3A. Great
job as usual! The 1F (Emergency Operations Center) effort
of WC1PLV finished 45th in their category, also.
Great job by Bruce - N1OFC and Rick - KB1FLR. A sincere thanks to everyone who came out
to help, operate or provide support to the club. We really
couldn't have done it without your help.
